About

The story of The Stage

A former film and sound stage in Elstree's working studio district, now an event venue.

The building

A film stage on Elstree Way.

The Stage began life as a film and sound stage: Building 5 on the Lumière estate, once part of Millennium Studios, in the heart of Elstree's working studio district. It was built to hold light and sound, and to become something new for every production that came through its doors.

The proportions are still a stage's: 6,300 sq ft across two rooms, rising to 7.8m at its highest.

What it is now

Built for a different kind of production.

Today the same room hosts weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, birthdays, conferences and launches, and it still takes filming and photography by the day. What made it right for a set makes it right for a night: the space to build any look you want, and the lighting, sound and projection to carry it.

The Stage takes one event a day, so whoever is in the room has all of it: the signature black dance floor, the handcrafted bar, the lounge and the team.

The team

The team on your day.

Every event has a dedicated event manager and two technicians on site, with security, cloakroom and toilet attendants, and cleaning taken care of. On a fully hosted event, The Stage team plans the night with you and runs it from the first guest to the last. On a dry hire, the same team runs the room around your own suppliers.
